HUGE thank you to everyone who has been dropping pennies into the blue collection

HUGE thank you to everyone who has been dropping pennies into the blue collection tins we've got dotted about the village!
Every single penny helps USS to do what we do - it also really means the world to the kids to see, with every full tin we get back, that their hard work is so appreciated.
💙
This afternoon Alanna, Orla, Harper and Kasey popped in to say thank you to the lovely staff at Lochbroom Filling Station - for hosting an especially popular tin on their counter.
💙
If any other local businesses would be willing to host a tin, or if you've got one to return, please give us a shout!

So exciting to be working with kids from all around the shores of Wester Ross Marine Protected Area!
Massive thanks to Sea-Changers for supporting this project and giving these young people the opportunity to build their own wee sea saving group - can’t wait to see where they go with it

A trip out with Alison and her mum Irene this afternoon, both of whom have grown up with the sea as part of their lives

A trip out with Alison and her mum Irene this afternoon, both of whom have grown up with the sea as part of their lives, so it was good to get them out and take a tour round the loch, where we encountered dolphins and took a look along the coast.

After the excitement at the Nature of Scotland Awards, Janis and Noel went to Oban for the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust tour operators meet up at The Scottish Association for Marine Science (somewhere we all love at USS and are looking to maybe put on a wee road trip again next year....).

Calm weather, sensible tides and a few hours of daylight meant

Calm weather, sensible tides and a few hours of daylight meant ideal conditons for hauling in some of the rubbish washed up in the recent gales. Amongst the usual debris, a metal water bottle made a nice change from all the plastic ones...also glad to get a few buoys back to their boats -

Fantastic conditions yesterday for boat trips

Fantastic conditions yesterday for boat trips to consolidate and build on everything we have been learning during our amazing Knowledge Building for Blue Learning series with Noel!
